HTC had planned on pushing out Android 5.0 Lollipop updates to its One (M7) and One (M8) models within 90 days of Google releasing its latest version of Android. Turns out, HTC was able to keep that plan in tact. According to a tweet from HTC’s Mo Versi, the Android 5.0 update for the developer edition and unlocked variant of the One (M8) have been approved by Google. As a result, that means that the update itself should begin rolling out as an over the air (OTA) update as soon as this evening....

HTC has been constantly updating the One with new software/Android updates ever since it released the handset early last year. It also became more transparent about how the update process works and provided regular updates to users about the software update of their device. When Google released Android 4.4.2 KitKat last year in November, HTC promised that it would update the carrier versions of the One in the United States to KitKat within 90 days....
