While HTC prepares its “Double Exposure” event for October 8, where they say they’ll be announcing “something remarkable,” the Internet has been playing host to several leaked images for at least one device that’s rumored to make the main stage during the event. On Friday, October 3, a pair of new images were posted to Twitter that reportedly showcased the handset that will officially be known as the Desire Eye when it gets announced in just a few days. They showed an image that certainly shares the Desire’s family attributes, including rounded corners (albeit an off-set camera on the back this time around). And now those images can be corroborated with a pair of leaked press images that show off the colorful handset with its impressive front-facing camera.
Thanks to the Twitter account HTCFamily_RU (@htcfamily_ru), the Desire Eye has now reportedly been leaked in its full glory, showcasing not only the full front, but also the majority of the back and what looks like it will be the right edge of the Desire Eye. To the point, it looks like we can see a physical camera button there near the bottom-right edge, which would certainly lend credence to the idea that the Desire Eye will be billed as a “camera-first” device. The main takeaway, though, is the front-facing camera, which is said to be a 13-megapixel f/2.0 wide-angle shooter. It will even include dual-LED flashes. It’s believed that HTC will market the Desire Eye as the “ultimate selfie phone,” and if that 13-megapixel front-facing camera is indeed part of the package, the marketing will certainly make sense. As far as other features go, the Desire Eye is reportedly no slouch. They include a 5.2-inch 1080p HD display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor clocked at 2.3GHz, 2GB of RAM and 32GB of built-in storage. The camera on the back is reportedly a 13-megapixel shooter as well. The battery is said to measure in at 2400mAh. While the Desire Eye could very well be the best selfie phone out there, the other pieces of specifications could very well win over plenty of other customers looking for their next smartphone. What do you think of HTC’s rumored Desire Eye?
