HTC’s executive director of product marketing, Mo Versi, announced in a tweet today that the oft-forgotten predecessor to the HTC ONE (M7) will see a software update this week.  The Droid DNA, which was sold on Verizon reless, will see Android 4.4.2 Sense 5.5 pushed out to their devices beginning April 24. The phone was one of the first to boast a 1080p display, but suffered from poor battery life an older, skeuomorphic version of Sense UI. This update will give it a bit of a boost, though there’s no word on whether it will receive Sense 6 like some of its other brethren. — Mo (@moversi) April 22, 2014 At least the company is supporting it; HTC announced back in nuary that it would cease updates for the HTC One X One X+. Those devices won’t be upgraded past Android 4.2.2 lly Bean or Sense 5. But it’s a positive step in the right direction because it will not only help eliminate device fragmentation, but encourage those faithful HTC users to adopt a variant of the One (M8) sooner or later.
