In August 2014, HTC introduced a very limited edition of the One (M8) called the PHUNK edition, and it boasted intricately laser-etched designs on the back of the flagship handset. That limited edition appeal hasn’t been lost on HTC, though, and soon it will showcase just how some artists can customize the One M9, the company’s latest flagship. The new program is called INK, and while HTC has just introduced the program, there aren’t many details known at this point.
The manufacturer did showcase what the designs could look like, though, as HTC calls them “custom-designed, body art-inspired engravings.” As seen in in the image just above, which was designed by celebrity tattoo artist Cally-Jo Pothecary and supermodel Jourdan Dunn, the designs look to be very interesting, but just how many of them will be showcased, or how many artists will be called upon to submit designs is unknown. Or, how many of these limited edition devices will be released, for that matter. As it stands, though, INK looks interesting enough. For anyone that has been waiting to get a One M9, this could be something to wait for.
