Over the weekend, @evleaks gave us a healthy dose of information about HTC’s upcoming flagship — the M8 Prime. Today, he has posted an image of the phone’s camera setup, showing off the huge primary UltraPixel camera, the dual-LED flash and the secondary depth focus camera. The huge bump around the camera sensor suggests that HTC might have finally ditched the 4MP sensor as seen on the One M8 and gone with a higher resolution UltraPixel sensor on the Prime. If this indeed turns out to be true, we might see HTC’s upcoming phablet set a new standard in low-light photography. The original HTC One performed stunningly in low-light but was criticised for its low-resolution sensor. HTC went with the same sensor on the One M8 minus the OIS, which garnered the company a lot of criticism this time. The M8 Prime is expected to land sometime later this year with a Snapdragon 805 chipset, 3GB of RAM and a 5.5-inch QHD display and will be made of an “exotic” material. Update: Evleaks has also posted a 360 render of the handset here, and also revealed that the M8 Prime will be the first handset from HTC that will run on Sense 6.5.
