HTC has divulged one key detail about the One M10: it will offer a very compelling camera experience. The camera performance of HTC smartphones have always been one of their weakest points, but with every other OEM greatly stepping up their game in this department, HTC is now also ready to take things to the next level as well.
Speaking to CNET, HTC’s Chief Financial Officer Chialin Chang said that the company will be showing the One M10 to consumers “very soon” and that it will offer a very “compelling camera experience.” The CFO said that this comment was being made after seeing the camera performance of other devices in the market. Cher Wang, who also spoke to CNET, did not reveal any other information about the One M10. However, she did hope that this year will be different from HTC. The poor camera performance of the HTC One M9 was a major kink in its armor, which greatly affected the sales of the handset and HTC’s fortune last year. With Samsung once again offering a really great camera experience with the Galaxy S7 this year, it will be interesting to see how HTC manages to match or even surpass them this time around. Leaks point to the One M10 coming with a 5.2-inch Quad HD display, a Snapdragon 820 chipset, and a 12MP shooter with OIS, PDAF and LaserAF. The handset is expected to be unveiled by HTC next month, with the company already teasing its unveiling on Twitter.
