On Wednesday, October 8, HTC unveiled not only the new HTC Desire Eye, a handset with a 13-megapixel front-facing camera, but also the RE camera, a stand-alone GoPro-like camera with its own 16MP shooter. But, the company isn’t quite done, apparently. Another handset has been surfaced within HTC China’s official online store, ahead of any kind of official announcement, teasing a device that’s quite similar to the original One (M8), but different in one important area: the camera. According to a report originally published by AndroidCentral, the HTC One (M8 Eye) will feature a design exactly like that of the original One (M8), but the online shop’s description points out a 13-megapixel Duo Camera setup on the back, rather than the original One (M8)’s use of a 4-megapixel UltraPixel setup.
Other features are what you might expect in the One (M8 Eye): A 5-inch 1080p HD display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor under the hood, with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of built-in storage. It will have 4G LTE connectivity, dual-SIM support and offer a 5MP front-facing camera. The only potential bad news about the One (M8 Eye) might be that it looks like this handset is meant to stay in China, after it goes on sale beginning Wednesday, October 15. The device is listed at 3,999 Chinese Yuan, or about $652. Would you pick up, or do you plan on picking up, the One (M8 Eye)?
