In May, HTC officially announced the One mini 2. Despite launching after the One (M8), the One mini 2 isn’t so much of a smaller version of that device, more so than a direct sequel to the One mini that launched in 2013. And Verizon was quick to jump on the opportunity, it seems. We saw a leak on July 21 that suggested the One Remix, Verizon’s branded version of the One mini 2, would see the light of day on July 24. Now, here we are just one day before and Verizon has gone ahead and made the device official. The One Remix will launch for Big Red on July 24, and will come with a $99.99 price tag if you opt for a two-year agreement. The press release for the device mentions Verizon’s monthly installment plan, Verizon Edge, but doesn’t actually say how much you’ll be paying for the privilege. Instead, it goes over the specs: A 4.5-inch 720p HD display, 16GB of built-in storage, with support of microSD cards up to 128GB. There’s a 13-megapixel camera on the back, and a 5MP camera on the front. The battery’s measured in at 2100mAh, and you’ll get your hands on Android 4.4.2 KitKat right out of the box, with Sense 6 atop that. Verizon doesn’t make any mention of the processor or RAM, but the international One mini 2 boasts a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor and 1GB, respectively, so it’s likely the same scenario for Verizon’s version.
