Almost every well-known Android manufacturer has dipped its toes in the smartwatch market, except for HTC. There have been quite a few rumors of the Taiwanese OEM working on an Android Wear smartwatch, but we haven’t actually seen anything from the company. But now, it seems HTC is very close to releasing an HTC One smartwatch, possibly in February next year. The latest hint about an HTC smartwatch comes from popular leakster evleaks, who says HTC fans will be able to own a One smartwatch by the second month of 2016. He doesn’t go into any more details, but the watch is likely to run Android Wear and feature an attractive design, at least if we go by HTC’s track record before the iPhone-like One A9 came along. But the One A9 is also the only device from the company in recent memory to gain any considerable attention from the critics and consumers, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see a One smartwatch that takes design cues from the Apple Watch. Then again, this is only a rumor, and even though it comes from a reliable source, it would be best to take it with a pinch of salt given the numerous rumors that have failed to turn into reality.
