HTC today relaunched its flagship handset — the One M9+ — in Taiwan with an upgraded camera. Dubbed the “Supreme Camera,” the new version of the One M9+ comes a new 21MP rear camera that features OIS. The handset also comes with a LaserAF sensor and Phase Detection Auto Focus for auto-focus times of around 0.1 seconds.
Beside the bump in camera, other specs of the One M9+ remain the same as its original version. This includes a 5.2-inch IPS LCD display with Quad HD resolution, an octa-core 64-bit Helio X10 chipset, 3GB RAM, a 4MP UltraPixel front camera, and a 2,840mAh battery. HTC’s signature front-facing BoomSound stereo speakers are also present, with the bottom speaker now housing a fingerprint scanner as well. The original HTC One M9+ was panned for its poor camera performance, especially since almost every other major Android device released this year has packed in a great camera. So, it will be interesting to see whether the camera performance of this updated One M9+ is as good as its competitors or not. HTC will start selling the new One M9+ in Taiwan, its home market, from October 15 for around $640.
