When HTC released the One M8 earlier this year, it stated that it would release a Quick Charge 2.0 capable charger for the handset later this year. The charger, dubbed the Rapid Charger 2.0, is now listed on the company’s website as coming soon. According to HTC’s product description, the charger is capable of charging certain HTC handsets up to 40% faster than traditional chargers. It takes advantage of Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 2.0 technology and pulls 15W of power to achieve this result. Rapid Charger 2.0 is only compatible with certain HTC devices including the One M8, One E8, One Remix, One M8 Hardan Kardon Edition, and the Desire EYE. HTC does not list a price or release date for the charger. If you are immediately looking to buy a Quick Charge 2.0 compatible charger though, have a look at Motorola’s Turbo Charger, which should also provide similar performance as HTC’s Rapid Charger.
