HTC today announced its Uh Oh protection plan that expands upon its previous HTC Advantage program, and offers more than just a free one-time screen replacement due to damage to its consumers. Under the Uh Oh protection plan, HTC One M9 owners will be eligible for one free replacement unit due to a cracked screen, water damage or even for switching carriers for the first 12 months from the date of purchase of the handset. While the first two protections are offered by certain carriers at a nominal cost, it is unheard of a company to offer a replacement phone to a consumer because they are switching carriers. Even better, if any user does not end up using the free replacement during the first 12 months of the purchase of the device, he will be eligible to receive $100 off from HTC on the future purchase of a One smartphone. To be eligible for the Uh Oh protection service, user must purchase a HTC One M9 that is intended to be sold in the United States prior to August 31st. Additionally, HTC will also be covering the One M8 under the program as well, provided you purchase the handset on or after March 25, 2015 and before August 31, 2015. The different variants of One M8 and One M9 covered under the Uh-Oh protection can be found here. HTC will be providing more details about its UH OH protection service later today at its event in New York. Oh! and if you have not already guessed it, the service will only be available to consumers in the United States.
