Huawei Honor 8 has been dubbed ‘Beauty out of the ordinary’ by the Chinese OEM, and now, with the device having passed through TEENA, the specs and design have been revealed so we can evaluate how true the statement is.
The Honor 8 comes with a double glass design that has a metal side-frame which is evident in the images leaked. The images also confirm the rumours about the device having a dual camera set-up and a rear fingerprint reader. The shell of the device does not look extraordinary, but seems to follow the design architecture that continues to carry forward features of the previous generations.
Maybe the beauty lies in the specs of the device, which by all means aren’t very spectacular either. The Honor 8 will launch with Android 6 pre-installed and offer multiple variants of the device sharing the same 5.2-inch 1080p display behind which you have a 2.3GHz processor with an octa-core Kirin 950 chip. The variations in the offerings by Huawei lie in the built-in storage capacity and RAM with the device being offered with 32GB of storage and either 3 or 4GB of RAM or 64GB storage and 4GB RAM.
The camera on the device is the same as the Honor V8, meaning, 12MP dual cameras in the rear and a single 8MP selfie shooter. As these features and specs puts the dimensions and weight of the Honor 8 at 145.5 x 71.0 x 7.45mm and 153 grams respectively. The Honor 8 has been speculated to be priced below the flagship Honor V8 series and thus the entry level model with 32GB memory and 3GB RAM will be tentatively priced at 1999 Yuan ($306). Let us know in the comments if you are looking forward to the upcoming Honor 8.
