Huawei has started sending out press invites for an event that will be held on March 27 in Paris, France. The company will be unveiling its P-series of flagship phone at the event.
While the company does not mention anything in its press invite, it would be unveiling its P20 series of phones at the event. Rumors point to Huawei launching a trio of smartphones under its P20 series this year — the P20, P20 Lite, and P20 Plus, with the flagship handset featuring 3 cameras at the rear. The handsets will also sport a notch display design similar to the iPhone X. The handsets will be powered by Huawei’s Kirin 970 chipset that is also found inside its Mate 10 handset. Huawei’s P-series of smartphones have been particularly popular in Europe, though the P10 did not meet with much success. Huawei had unveiled the P10 at an event in Barcelona, Spain just a day ahead of MWC 2017. This time around though, the company has decided to unveil its flagship P-series phone a month after MWC 2018 in a bid to possibly ensure that its thunder is not stolen by Samsung’s Galaxy S9. The delayed launched might have an impact on the success of the P20 especially since its possible that by the time the handset goes on sale in Europe, the Galaxy S9 would have already hit the stores. Are you looking forward to Huawei unveiling the P20 in late March? Or are you more excited about Samsung’s Galaxy S9?
