After the revelation of a senior Huawei executive that the company plans to launch its Honor branding in the U.S. market next year, the Wall Street Journal citing “people familiar with the matter” says that the company will be launching its high-end flagship — the Mate 8 — in the country early next year as well.
Additionally, Huawei also plans on launching a sub $300 Honor 5X and a “new smartwatch” to go along with it. The company will be showcasing these products at CES 2016 in Las Vegas next month. Huawei already sells its Android Wear running Huawei Watch in the United States, so it will be interesting to see what new smartwatch the company plans on launching in the U.S. now. Huawei also plans on launching a new advertising campaign in the United States along with the launch of its Honor brand. Huawei is already among the top smartphone makers in the world and is on track to sell well over 100 million units this year. However, the company has little to no presence in the United States. With the launch of the Nexus 6P — where it worked closely with Google — the company has been able to make some inroads into the U.S. smartphone market, and by launching its Honor brand, it wants to further cement its position in the country. How excited are you about Huawei launching its Honor brand in the United States?
