Well, by the end of this year, the PC and Mac marketplace might feature approximately 150 devices with Intel’s Thunderbolt 3 USB-C port. However, the silicon giant is planning to bring the Thunderbolt interface to regular PCs in coming future. Well, right now the systems which support Intel’s Thunderbolt interface have a separate chip. Intel is planning to make this interface a royalty-free by next year and opening up Thunderbolt specifications to the industry.
Well, the Thunderbolt Interface is been introduced by Intel way back in the year 2011. According to the reports from Wired ” Thunderbolt 3 comes equipped with transfer speeds of 40Gbps, which roughly works out to a 4K movie in 30 seconds. It can power devices, and connect to 4K peripherals.” Jason Ziller, Intel’s lead for Thunderbolt development said “We think the first thing is going to drive broader adoption and deployment of Thunderbolt 3 in PCs. The second will drive also broader adoption in the ecosystem, with a lot of different peripherals and other devices.” So, what do you think about this? Share your views in the comment box below.
