With the OnePlus 5T, OnePlus has improved on key aspects of the device where its predecessor, the OnePlus 5, faltered. This includes switching to a bezel-less design at the front, improving the dual-camera setup at the rear, and more. However, despite making such minor yet key improvements, the OnePlus 5T still lacks a feature that has become a commonplace in flagship handsets released this year: dust and water-resistance. The OnePlus 5 was also criticised for the lack of its IP certification and its disappointing to see the same trend continue with the 5T here. For a company that proudly boasts about launching flagship killers, its disappointing to see OnePlus not fix one of the biggest gripes of the 5 with the 5T. Nonetheless, the switch to a bezel-less display with the 5T will please a lot of people and more than make up for the lack of water-resistance on the handset this time around. Plus, most other smartphones priced in the same range also lack any kind of IP certification so OnePlus can be given a pass for not making the 5T water-resistant. On a positive note, now that the OnePlus 5T comes with a bezel-less display, it is likely that with the OnePlus 6 next year, the company will focus on adding a certain degree of water-resistance to its flagship device.
