Not to mention, the JioPhone, which is the cheapest 4G-enabled smartphone, announced to make the internet available for every individual in the country. At its launch, the company sold the phone for Rs 1,500. But, taking into consideration a large population of the country that is still on 2G networks, the company has decided to provide the phone (JioPhone 1) for a special discounted price of Rs 699 (without exchange on the old phone). The offer goes live during the festive season of Dussehra and Diwali, and JioPhone users who join the network during the sale will get an additional benefit of worth Rs 700. Customers will get this benefit in the form of data for worth Rs 99 for their first seven recharges. When summed together, the offer provides a total savings of Rs 1500, which a saving of Rs 800 on the initial price of the phone and Rs 700 worth of data offered for free.
