How to use Johns Hopkins University’s COVID-19 tracker
This infection map was already impressive before this latest update. It lists confirmed COVID-19 cases, as well as the current rate of progression and fatalities. Then, you can zoom in on any location in the U.S. for detailed information. You’ll notice a couple of menus on the upper right hand of the U.S. map — one for state and another for county numbers. Simply select the state you want information on in that drop-down menu, then select the county. The map will focus on the area you select. Just zoom in further and click on the county you’re interested in. You can click the status report for more details. Here’s an example of what we found for New York City. New York is the hardest-hit area in the U.S. and this status report confirms that. It shows the total confirmed cases, deaths, fatality rate and the number of people tested in the county.
