I’m going to get a lot of hell for saying this, but screw it: I think the last cool thing Google did was to integrate their translation service into Chrome. That was in early 2010. Maybe you don’t care about reading websites in languages other than your own, but I do that multiple times a day. Whether it be for catching up on Finnish news, reading Korean rumors, Russian device leaks, whatever. Despite this feature being “old”, it still blows my mind when Google politely asks me: “Would you like to translate this page to English?” That’s straight up science fiction.
Sadly, this feature hasn’t yet come to mobile … until now. If you install Chrome Beta, whenever you visit a website that isn’t set to your phone’s default language, the browser will ask you if you’d like a translation. I tried it this morning, and it’s awesome. Another notable features is full screen support for tablets. Scroll down a page and the URL/search bar disappears.
