Ready for a shockingly good news? Verizon, known for rolling out Android updates to devices months after they were originally allowed, and Motorola — the company that dumps its devices within months of their release — will soon be starting the soak test for the Moto X. The invitation for the soak test started going out last week itself, but it was not clear whether the soak test was for Android 4.4 KitKat or just another bug-fixing update. Today, a leaked screenshot from Motorola’s private forum has confirmed that the soak test invite rolling out is indeed for the KitKat update for the Moto X. The soak test should arrive “sometime very soon”, and if the feedback among the soak testers is positive, a wider roll-out of the update should commence soon after. It is really very surprising to see Motorola and Verizon already starting the KitKat soak test for the Moto X. Chances are, the Moto X on Verizon will receive its KitKat update right around the time the Google Play edition HTC One and Galaxy S4 handsets. This news should definitely bring music to the ears of Verizon’s Moto X owners.
