According to @evleaks, the anonymous Twitter user with a near perfect track record when it comes to rumors, HTC is going to release a 5.9 inch 1080p smartphone by the end of this year. He (or she!) says it’ll be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800, it’ll have 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of storage, a microSD card slot, and that it’ll look a lot like the HTC One.
Speaking about the One, this phablet, codenmed T6, will have the same Ultrapixel camera and BoomSound speakers. Since the T6 will be competing head to head with the Note, HTC also plans on including a stylus. The phone is said to have a 3,300 mAh battery, which you can augment by buying an official HTC case that has an embedded 1,250 mAh battery inside. Other than that, this device will apparently get Android Key Lime Pie, though @evleaks doesn’t know what specific version number that is. Sense will be on top, and it isn’t going to be a major revamp of the current version. It’ll just offer more content in BlinkFeed, HTC’s Flipboard clone that you’re forced to use whether you want to or not. Should Samsung be worried? Hard to say without looking at the Note III or the T6. Assuming Samsung launches the Note III before the T6, then they’ll get a first mover advantage, but you never know, HTC might just surprise us all.
