Everything there is to know about the Galaxy S5 will be known in less than two months; maybe even less than one month, depending on who you believe. Until that press conference happens, however, we’re going to have to swim through countless rumors and leaks, slowly putting disparate pieces of information together in an attempt to gain a clear picture. With that in the back of your mind, let’s focus on the latest tweet from @evleaks. He uploaded a photo that was allegedly captured using the Galaxy S5. Said photo is a 16 megapixel image, and it’s from a device known as the SM-G900V.
— @evleaks (@evleaks) January 29, 2014 Here’s what we can decipher. One, Verizon will get the Galaxy S5. That’s not too surprising, it’s a flagship phone. Two, those rumors about a 20 megapixel camera are probably bullshit. Three, whoever took the photo above has no idea how to properly use a camera. What else is “known” about the Galaxy S5? Again, this is all speculation, but people are saying we should expect a 5.2 inch 2K display, Snapdragon 805 or Snapdragon 800, and at least 3 GB of RAM. The user interface will be completely different, and it’ll share several of the design elements from the newly announced Samsung Galaxy TabPro and NotePro devices. And that’s pretty much it. Metal body or plastic body? I don’t know. Fingerprint scanner or eye ball scanner? Beats me. Loaded to the gills with features that power users will immediately turn off as soon as they turn on the device? Guaranteed.
