Surprise surprise! LG, which has traditionally always been slow to roll-out Android updates to its devices, has just announced that it will begin rolling out the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for the G3 in Poland from “this week.”
The Korean company states that the rollout of the update in Poland will be followed by other “key markets” in the near future. The company also boasts about the fact that it is the first global smartphone manufacturer to offer the Android 5.0 Lollipop update to one of its handset. LG also states that the Lollipop update for the G3 will bring with it a “host of improvements including a new design language with added depth, shadows and animations. Notifications are improved with a new layout and color scheme and will be available on the new lock screen.” Other notable new features in Lollipop include Smart Lock/Unlock that will automatically lock/unlock their device when it is near a pre-registered Bluetooth device, improved battery life and more. If you own a carrier branded version of the LG G3 though, don’t expect the update to land on your device in the foreseeable future.
