LG has started rolling out the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for the G3 in Europe. LG had announced the roll out of Lollipop for the G3 even before Google had started rolling out the update for its Nexus devices. The 522MB v20e OTA update brings all the Lollipop goodness introduced by Google, including Material Design inspired system apps, Smart Lock, improved multitasking and more.
LG had initially rolled out the Lollipop update for the G3 only in its home market — Korea. It is only after a month now that it has now started a wider roll out of the update in other regions of the world. LG has always been criticized for its slow update speed, so it is surprising to see the company beat Motorola and Google in updating its flagship device to the latest version of Android. It also managed to beat Samsung this time around, which recently started rolling out the Lollipop update for the Galaxy S5 in Poland.
