According to a post by LG Germany on its Facebook page, the Korean company is planning on upgrading its current flagship — the LG G3 — to Android 5.0 Lollipop sometime in Q4 of 2014. The company’s announcement does not offer any other detail except for saying that the Lollipop update for the G2 will follow sometime later. If LG manages to stick to its word, it might just beat HTC, which has promised to roll-out the Lollipop update for the One within 90 days of the source code being released to the public by Google. Rumors and leaks indicate that Samsung is also planning on releasing the first Android 5.0 update for the Galaxy S5 by December. Keep in mind that LG here is talking about the unlocked, retail models of the G3 only. As it is usually the case, carrier variants of the handset will only receive the update a month or two down the line.
