LG today sent out press invites for an event in New York scheduled on 1st October. The invite from the company does not reveal anything about which device will be unveiled, but it is likely that we will see the company announce the recently leaked V10. As previous leaks about the V10 have revealed, the handset will come with a primary 5.7-inch display, along with a secondary ‘ticker’ display. Other specs of the V10, as pointed out by leaks and rumors, include a Snapdragon 808 processor, 3GB RAM, a microSD card slot, a 16MP rear shooter, and a 5MP front-facing shooter. The handset will come with rear-mounted volume and power buttons — a trademark feature of recent LG devices.
We have already seen Samsung release a phone (remember the Verizon Continuum?) with a secondary ticker display to no success, though the smartphone market has matured significantly since then. It will be interesting to see how LG takes advantage of the secondary ‘ticker’ display on its upcoming handset to offer some unique new features. Are you excited about LG’s upcoming smartphone?
