Google Cardboard was a small step towards mobile virtual reality from Google, but it looks like LG wants to give it out to the masses. The niche product, and probably nothing more than a small project in and of itself, Google Cardboard will turn a phone like LG’s G3 into a mobile virtual reality unit, and now LG wants you to try it out. With the company’s new promotion, “VR for G3,” the manufacturer will offer up a free plastic variant of Google Cardboard to anyone who buys a G3. The promotion will kick off later in February, and LG doesn’t have an expiration date planted in their official announcement. Do you plan on taking advantage of it?
