LG is one of the few OEMs that ships its devices with a locked down bootloader and does not offer any official bootloader unlocking tool as well. A report from earlier today had claimed that Google had cancelled the second-generation ‘muskie’ in favor of an even bigger ‘taimen’ device. With HTC manufacturing the smaller ‘walleye’, it was assumed that the company was also going to manufacture ‘taimen.’ Turns out as per a bug posted on the AOSP issue tracker, LG is possibly the OEM that is manufacturing ‘taimen’ for Google. Today, as expected, HTC officially announced its newest flagship smartphone, the U11+. The U11+ offers quite a few of the elements HTC introduced with the successful U11 that launched earlier this year, but improves certain elements to boost the appeal.
